March was a month of hands-on learning, outdoor discoveries, and creative expression. The children explored art, poetry, and literature, adding their own unique touch to each lesson. From crafting gemstone necklaces to observing nature’s small wonders, every moment was filled with curiosity and joy.
Here’s a peek at what we were up to last month:
Sparkling Gems and Tiny Treasures
This month’s crafts were filled with creativity, but gemstone necklaces were the clear favorite! The children loved wearing their handmade treasures to class all month long. Another highlight was sculpting mini clay caves, complete with delicate stalactitesandstalagmites—a fun and hands-on way to explore nature’s wonders.
With spring in the air, the children enjoyed searching for ladybugs and roly-polies. A special treat was watching the baby sheep grow at the farm, and one class was lucky enough to see a farm dog expertly herding the flock.
“The kids have been having a lot of fun looking around for ladybugs and roly polies.” - Ms. Olivia
Painting, Poetry, and Springtime Strolls
This month, the Owls wandered through the vibrant world of Paul Cézanne, creating their own beautiful interpretations of his artwork. They read Matilda by Roald Dahl, cheering for her cleverness and bravery, and giggled through the playful poetry of Eugene Field.
Nature walks felt especially magical, with morning glories blooming across the farm and the simple joy of picking sunflower seeds straight from the flowers.
"Our nature walks were lovely too, with the morning glories popping up all over the farm" - Ms. Emily
Spring Equinox Festival & River Day Outing: A Celebration of Renewal
Spring Equinox Festival
Our Spring Equinox Festival at Mother Nature's Farm was a beautiful way to welcome the season of renewal. We gathered for a story, crafts, games, and songs, celebrating the beginning of spring with joy and community. It was especially special as we invited families from our waitlist to experience the warmth of Acorn School.
